Three Puzzles: Two Days

I got some puzzles for students who are finishing their work early, and I very much underestimated them!  I got puzzles thinking, "Okay, these will take them a while to do," but it only took them two days to finish three puzzles, in their spare time! Just like Sarah!! :)

Moon Rise

I think the lunar eclipse was amazing, but to me, nothing compared to last night's moon rise. Wow!!! So amazing.  I didn't even try to take a picture, but instead did a craft to try and show how great it was.  Well, the craft is just that, a craft, and doesn't show the magnificence well, but it was truly amazing.

Pencils

Books!!!! :D

My Scholastic Book Order just came in, and I laid out all the books I got for free due parent orders. (The parents buy books, which in turn gives me points with which to "buy" books for free.)  It was like Book Christmas today!! :D :) :D

A complete set of the Chronicles of Narnia failed to make it in the picture, but I got those too! :)

Owl Bracelet

A student got me a very cute owl bracelet.  My students are the best! :)

It's hard to tell, but the little blue pieces are owls. :)

Special Dinner

The PTA at school gave me a gift card for my birthday, and I had an old gift card, so I used them both to get dinner at the Blue Window. It was delicious, and the desserts were especially beautiful!

Birthday :)

We had a very "Hannah" dinner for my birthday!  Mac and Cheese, Fish Sticks, and Iced Tea!! :)  In the present are two very cool biscuit cutters, square ones and a hexagonal one. :)

School Birthday

Today is quite the day. I  had students bring me in things, and another student has a birthday this weekend as well so she brought in cupcakes. Either way, there's a lot of sugar and goodies in my classroom today!

Do you see how the front cupcakes are owls? So cute!!!

Owl Sticky Notes

A student gave me an early birthday present today, owl sticky notes!  They are quite adorable.  In the background you can see the owl cup a student gave me last year.  It's becoming quite the owl extravaganza in my classroom!! :)

Owls

Lots of cool animal happenings!  We have two owls living outside our house right now, and last night we sat on the porch in the dark and listened to them calling to one another. (Or, trying to assert their territory to one another, not sure which.) :)  Either way, it was super cool!!

Bats

Lately when we have been running we have seen so many bats along the side of the road.  It is so cool! (As long as they stay high above us and far enough away it will stay cool!) :)  Wish I could capture a picture of this, but they move very quickly in very little light, it's very hard to capture.

Hairstyle

Nathan really likes it when I wear my hair like this, so I thought I would take a picture of it so I can remember what it looks like! :) 

New Door Complete!

The door between the living room and stairs is now complete. Yay!

Thistles in the Backyard

Eeyore should come and visit.  Not sure if you can see in this photo, but the top right side of our yard is covered in thistles.  Since we've let everything go wild, I think it's quite nice!  Also, wish you could smell our yard.  The lovely Ponderosa Pine smell is amazing!  It's like our backyard is making sugar cookies! ;)

Western Day

Today is Western Day at school.  A friend at work hooked me up and now I look quite done up!

Lemon Tree Blossoms!

Soon we will have even more lemons!  We have three that are not ripe yet, and many more to come. This is the first of many blossoms that have bloomed. :)

 

Pretty Santa Fe Restaurant

Nathan and I found this beautiful restaurant area while we walked around Santa Fe yesterday waiting for our car to get fixed.

Not All Baking Turns Out Good

The bread turned out good as usual, but the sad little muffins on the right did not. They are Cornbread Cocoa Nib Muffins.  They turned out small, dense, and mediocre on flavor. Oh well!

Living Room Door

Nathan is building a door for our living room. We are hoping to block off the living room from our cats when we're not in there because one little cat has a bad habit off peeing on things, and we'd like her to not...

Paddington Share

We started reading Paddington for this school year.  One of my students loves England and Paddington as much as I do.  She lived in England for a while, so she brought her Paddington/England scrapbook and shared with us today!

Paddington Bears

A student brought in her Paddington Bear for while we're reading the book.  Her Paddington and mine look great next to one another! Quite good company I think! 

I also made sure England was in the background on the globe, but though it's quite small compared to Africa, it's hard to see.  

Ramen on the Porch

Enjoyed some cool ramen bowls on our little side deck today.  The ramen was good, and the weather was great!

The chicken wire is for the cats so they can go outside, but not get away... :)
