Contradiction!!

We prepared for watching the Contradiction Giantbomb "playdate" like people prepare for the Superbowl. (We had different foods though.)  So fun!!!!!!!!  :D

Rain!

We have had so much rain we have lichen growing on our steps!  That's new!

Classroom Ready

Here we go!!  School year 2015-2016 is quickly approaching.  My room is now ready, but I am glad to say I don't need to go in again until work starts August 6th.  Glad to know I'm prepared though. :)

Wrinkled Heart - Chrysanthemum

This was an activity I did last year with my students and am just now taking it off the wall at school.  I thought it was too cute not to post. :)  This activity goes with the book Chrysanthemum, an adorable Kevin Henkes book.

Foggy Morning

After a very rainy evening, we woke up to a very foggy morning.  So pretty!

Rain

We got so much much rain this evening!  Around 4-6 inches in just a few hours, hooray!

Jemez Falls

Hiked a very short way to Jemez Falls.  The waterfall was very pretty, and a little way back from the fall was a great place for kids or adults to hangout or play in/near the river.

PEEC Hike

Went to the PEEC and then took the hike that starts at the center with the Millers.   :)

Wildflower Walk with the Millers :)

Collected grasses with Mom (Jean) and looked at all the pretty flowers along the way.  Three bucks were out and walked quite close to us.  :)

Amalie

Cleaned the house to prep for the Millers coming, and Amalie was looking very picturesque.  

Lamb Biryani

Made Lamb Biryani tonight. It's liek a lamb casserole with lamb on the bottom and rice on top.  Then, you dish it up and put a fried egg goes on top!  It was very good!

Bobbin Winding

I found a new way to wind the bobbin that is a bit easier.  (Thanks Dad for the hand drill!) ;)

Today is Not Nathan's Birthday...

Do you ever feel birthdays don't come around often enough? Well, I certainly thought so, and threw Nathan a "almost half-birthday" birthday party . :) Too fun!

 He got a tin of Chocolate Crinkle cookies, a cast iron tortilla press, and two boxes of dry erase crayons. (He had been talking about them for some time!) :D

Loom: Kitchen Towels

Making a few new things on my loom, namely kitchen towels.  In progress:

Whew: Threading the heddles is the most time consuming, but it's done, so on to weaving!

Crispy M&Ms!!

Yay! Crispy M&Ms are back!  These are my favorite, but they were discontinued.  I knew they were brought back in England, so I was hopeful they would come back in the U.S., and they did, so yum!

Car in the Shop

I took a nice ride on the Atomic City Transit today.  I forgot how long the waiting takes if not planned perfectly, but once on the bus, it was quite nice!

Went for a walk around the cabin this morning.  Lots of beautiful wildflowers!
